Fresh flowers can instantly uplift a space and create a nice homey atmosphere. Alternatively, a flower print can do the same whether it's a rug, wallpaper, curtains, bedding or scatter cushions!

2. Grab inspiration from hotels

Think about hotel rooms and bathrooms and how everything feels like it has a place. All elements seem to be carefully thought out and seamlessly works together. This is also a great idea for your apartment - make sure everything has a place by using baskets, shelves and containers. This way you'll keep everything organised. It's also a great idea to stick to a colour scheme.

3. Plan your layout

Before you add furniture to your first apartment it's a good idea to plan. Decide what you need from a room and then select your furniture items and plan where they will fit best. For example if you work from home you can select a specific room as your home office or have a designated desk in a room near a window.

4. Try temporary solutions

When your space is limited and you unfortunately can't include all your favourite furniture and decor pieces, you need to get creative with temporary solutions.
