Meet the maker: Clinton Friedman

Est 2003, Durban, KwaZulu Natal

Artist / Designer / Photographer / Publisher / Environmentalist

Clinton Friedman’s first exhibition of photographic studies in 2003 was a statement of intent that has come to define his aesthetic style: the ability to explore the intersection of seemingly contradictory elements and processes.

His work has international acclaim with collectors and representatives around the globe – it is a celebration, a keenly refined point of view, of our natural world; both its imperfections and its classical beauty. His work and his considered range of products, transcend artifice in favour of simplicity, forgo trend in favour of timelessness.

As an artist he has two opposing processes: one mechanical, the capturing of light and the other intuitive, an unconstrained manipulation of texture, shape and colour.
