Who is Cape Island?

CAPE ISLAND is a female-owned, eco-luxe company with a passion for telling stories through our inspiring products. The story of Africa is told through the fragrances themselves and through the dramatic artwork that adorns our packaging. Each item we produce connects you to a natural landscape and the many cultures and emotions woven into it. As an environmentally and socially responsible company, we recognise that simply telling these stories is not enough. Our vision is to be a force for positive change. We donate a percentage of proceeds to local non-profit organisations that protect and advocate for the natural beauty and wildlife of Africa. We pride ourselves in having strong roots in our local communities and a heart for the betterment of our people and continent.

What was the idea behind your brand?

Our Managing Directors Suzanne Snowdowne and Karin Woodwantedto start a creative business that would empower woman and feed into the community. The inspiration and creative concept behind Cape Island was borne from a desire to capture the natural beauty of Africa and celebrate it in people’s homes.

How many people work for you?

What are your best sellers?

What is YOUR favourite product of your collection?

We’re currently wild about the newest addition to our fragrance range,“Wild Coast” inspired by the rugged, untamed natural beauty of the stretch of coast that runs from the Eastern Cape to the KwaZulu Natal border. The sweetly seductive scent captures enticing notes of black currant and wild jasmine grounded with rich praline and patchouli. Wild Coast offers its tribute to the resilient youth of Africa and the promise of hope for a better future.
