Who is Design By Nats?

Founded by Natalie the owner who is passionate about Decor and Designing new things reflecting a love for Africa and nature.

What was the idea behind your brand?

Draw attention to beautiful fabrics that can enhance homes, lodges and guesthouses. Through colour, nature and African inspired in a more modern contemporary way.

How many people work for you?

At this stage only myself. Which means I do all the sewing, admin, marketing, buying etc. My goal is for my business to grow so I can employ and train someone to assist me and hopefully grow even more from there. I'm also at the stage where I need to look into buying industrial machines.

It was just before Covid hit that I was getting to the position to look at employing someone. Of course now with everything so unstable I have had to continue doing everything myself. I'm also very particular about the quality of the workmanship of every item.

What to you is the best thing about selling on Knus?

What is great about Knus is that they are all about supporting Local and are amazing with marketing. Just by going on their website gives you a very professional feel and a lot of work has gone into making it look current which I feel helps give my brand status. Also because they have so many followers it gives my brand a lot more exposure.

How would you say it has impacted your business selling through KNUS?

I think it has played a huge role in elevating my brand.

Why would you say it is important for customers to support local?

If everyone supported local the local brands could really grow and improve. Like in my case, growth means more job opportunity/employment. It actually has an amazing ripple effect. The more local is supported the more suppliers are supported etc.
