Potjie Pot Oil.
South African potjies have heart, history and a lot of soul. So many memories are made gathered around a fire with friends and family while the braai master cooks up a tasty pot.
Before your first cook in your pot, you need to prepare it correctly. This is in case there are any unappealing elements inside the pot that will affect the flavour of your meal.
It is important to clean and care for your pot correctly. If you care for your potjie well you should be able to have many years to practice and perfect your recipes – as well as developing a unique and rich flavour in your pot – which is what makes this local classic such an amazing addition to any outdoor cooking and braai!

· Wash your potjie out thoroughly with boiling water and dry.
· Coat the inside of your pot with the Specialized Potjie Care Oil and heat until the pot begins to smoke.
· When your potjie pot has cooled down, use a paper towel to wipe the inside clean. Repeat this step until your paper towel comes out looking clean.
Rinse your potjie pot with warm water and use a brush or scraper to remove stuck-on bits. For stubborn stuck-on bits, scrub your pot with salt mixed with a bit of our care oil. Rinse your pot out and wipe clean. Dry the pan and coat with a thin layer of our oil. Cool your pot down and store until ready to cook again.
After each use, wash your potjie pot and dry over a heat source to remove any excess moisture. Coat the inside with our potjie care oil, and store your pot with the lid off with absorbent paper inside.

Lead time: 15 working days before dispatch
Dispatch is when the item(s) in your order is ready for shipment not the date your order arrives at your door. Dispatch is when we release the item(s) to our delivery partners who handle final delivery. Once dispatched delivery should be within 2 - 5 working days via our economy door to door service in South Africa.
While the greatest care has been taken to ensure the colours shown are as close to the real thing as possible, colours may be influenced by your computer settings. Accordingly actual true colours may vary slightly from the colours portrayed online
KNUS uses an economy door to door courier service to ensure fast and direct delivery anywhere in South Africa. Our courier service offers delivery from Monday - Friday 08:00am - 17:00pm.
Weekend or after-hour deliveries may be offered on special request at a surcharge.

You are welcome to return or exchange your order within 10 days of the date of delivery in its original packaging and condition. No returns will be accepted for any products that is not sufficiently packaged, regardless the reason for return. Once we are satisfied of the condition of the item, you will be refunded via your original method of payment or have the option to exchange your item.
Exchanges are only allowed for the exact same item (i.e. same item in another colour or print) and/or an item of the exact same value. If you would like an item of a different value from the store, you will have to purchase this separately or wait until you have been refunded.
Unfortunately we do not accept returns of sale items.
Shipping fees are non refundable.
Any shipping fees associated with making returns are the responsibility of the customer and will not be refunded.
If your product is damaged in any way on delivery, please notify us and send us images as proof within 10 days of delivery on email@example.com so we may correct this as soon as possible.
No returns will be accepted for any products that is not sufficiently packaged, regardless the reason for return (i.e. not your cup of tea or damaged or faulty). If any returned items are damaged during return transit due to obvious insufficient packaging, you may not qualify for a refund / exchange and may be charged the return shipping fee to have the damaged goods returned to you.
Please note that certain items in our store are custom made and non refundable. You will see these applicable products on the specific products’ listing page(s).
KNUS does not offer any returns on international shipments.
Please note that should you use your own third party shipping company to further transport any product(s) already delivered to you by us to another address in South Africa or abroad, we are no longer responsible for any damages even if you notify us within the 10 days return policy unless you informed us of such damages BEFORE passing on the products to your courier company.
Therefore when using any third party shipping company or courier to further transport any product(s) abroad or in South Africa, all products MUST be checked for any damages once delivered by KNUS before handing over to your third party courier in order for us to assist you with any exchanges or refunds. In Layman's term's: please give your transport company permission to open your packages on your behalf and confirm whether there is any damage before further transporting the packages for you.
